WOW!! It's been a long time!!!!

Wow!! It's been since February that I've posted!! So much has happened! For example, we went to AZ this summer for 6 weeks, we went to Newport Beach, CA for a week, we went to Greer for 4 days, now we are back in Texas! We just celebrated Cody's 4Th birthday on the 12Th of this month and it was a blast!!! He hasn't had a birthday since his 1 year party that he doesn't even remember, so we had a birthday party!! We went to Chuck E. Cheese and it was a blast!! It was so fun to see him so excited!!
On another note, while we were at the beach, I had a little incident. It includes the water (equipped with rip tide), the jetty, me (minus my contacts so I was literally blind), 3 lifeguards, one bright yellow lifeguard boat, 1 lifeguard floaty thingy that straps around the body and clips, and more than several spectators (including my niece, Emily who was filming the whole deal). A very moot point in this story is my husband, Jonathan, who was supposed to take me in on the boogie board he took away from me, but instead, rode a wave to safety and left his legally blind wife to be dashed upon the rocks that make up the menacing jetty. Here is the story ( which at this point is pretty much self explanatory)
My sister-in-law, Laine and I were boogie boarding in the wonderful waves. Jonathan comes along and says "Hey, let me use your boogie board." So I let him use it. The days prior to this particular day there was a rip current and the lifeguards had put out markers along the beach that told the swimmers if they went past the markers, they would get sucked in the rip current. There were no such markers on this day, so I personally thought the rip current was gone. Anyway, next thing I know, I'm by myself. I get pretty panicky when I'm by myself in the waves maybe because I can't see or I don't know why, I just do. So, I'm by myself and notice I'm a heck of a lot closer to the jetty than I remember being before going under that wave. I tried to swim away from the jetty just to realize that I can't. I didn't really freak out then because there was still some distance between me and the jetty. Then I see a boogie boarder further out than I am and he most definitely has a beard. So I guess it's my husband and I guess right. I yelled to him to come get me on the next wave. So the next wave comes and goes and so does Jonathan. I looked around and I couldn't find him until I looked toward the beach and saw him standing there. He ditched me. Real nice right? (j/k...but seriously) Then to the left of him I see a lifeguard running into the water, Baywatch style (cue the music, we all know it!) So I tread water thinking to myself, "Great, I'm one of those, when I get back on the beach, I'm going to be made fun of by my family!!" So while I'm waiting for the lifeguard to swim to my rescue, I notice some familiar figures on the jetty. It was my brother-in-law Shaun, he was telling me to swim away from the rocks. My nieces and nephews that were with him were waving at me. They witnessed the rescue from very close. So anyway, Baywatch comes to my rescue and I say, "Hi." and laugh because yes, it is slightly embarrassing that I'm a 26 year old woman getting rescued by a younger handsome lifeguard. He straps me to his floaty deal and then appears the rescue boat. I clamber into the boat and once again say hello to the much younger, handsome lifeguards. They back the boat up closer to the shore and where the rip current wouldn't take me into the jetty again and we jump out, and he takes me to shore where my niece was waiting for me to give her an interview on camera. Awesome. I've been going to that same beach for 26 years and have never had to be rescued. Turns out, Laine rode a wave to shore, so that's where she went when I was all of a sudden by myself. Jonathan told me later that I was about 10-12 feet away from the rocks. That's really close, and that is what scared me the most afterward. Along with being legally blind, I also have really bad depth perception and it's even worse when I don't wear my contacts or glasses. Needless to say, I was a lot more careful while swimming in the waves for the rest of the trip!!!
Greer was very fun, there were no incidents with being rescued. It was very relaxing and awesome!!
I can't believe I forgot!! We also went to Disneyland while we were in Cali!! It was awesome!! It has been 9 years since I've been and Cody had never been!! We had a blast!! Phew! That was a long post! Thanks for keeping up!!
ok, so it's not letting me upload pictures, so i guess pictures to come!!

I seriously have not heard this beach story!! Wasn't I there later that day and not a word was said? I emailed you a while ago the link where the Greer pictures are. Did you get it? I will send it again =)
