the big D!

Spring break, we went to Dallas for a day. It was only about a 6 hour drive from Lubbock. Many stops had to be made for the boys and the pup. There were rolling green hills all along the way. It was fun because it rained hard the whole time.

We went to a science museum and the boys loved the swan boats in the pond behind it. There were an abundance of turtles.
What can I say except the boys love their Texas. We all do. You should try it out for yourself.

Jonathan couldn't take it anymore, took the boys to the store and brought back a cute little grill. They enjoy spending afternoons out in the wind, grilling up whatever is in season. Jonathan has a butcher that he goes to frequently now who is less than a mile away. To quote Ted: "It doesn't get any better than this." Grab a Coke in the bottle with the boys and we are grillin' Texas style.

Happy the dog

Cherisse brought home a dog one day. Her friend from work's dogs had 11 puppies and they were generous enough to give one to Cherisse. He is a chocolate lab. Carson named him Happy because he danced around like Happy Feet. They have a lot of fun with the little rascal. It has been a while since I have had a dog, and the puppy is like having a new baby again. The boys like to go to the park with the dog and let him chase them around. Cody shares his stuffed animals with Happy, and when he falls asleep on them Cody pretends to sleep there also.

Happy is a biter, but he is smart and already walks to the door when he needs to go. Carson was crying in time out the other day and the puppy went over to him to give him kisses. It will be fun for the boys to have a dog to grow up with.
